Neil Koonce – President

Neil founded Healthcare Receivables Group (originally Receivables Management Bureau) in 1993. Neil serves as the President of HRG and is involved in the day-to-day management of the company as well as being responsible for business development and the strategy of the firm.

Neil holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing from Tennessee Technological University and has a mini MBA from Belmont University.

Neil has been a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) since 1985 and is a past-president of the 1,200 member Tennessee Chapter. He has received HFMA’s Follmer Bronze Merit Award, Reeves Silver Merit Award, Muncie Gold Merit Award and the Medal of Honor. Neil was awarded the TCHFMA Ira M. Lane Award for sustained service to the Tennessee Chapter and the Tennessee Chapter Henry Hottum Award for significant contributions to the field of healthcare accounting and business office practices.

Neil is a past Regional Executive for HFMA Region 5 (AL, FL, GA, SC, and TN) and served on the National Associations Chapter Services Council. He served as a member of the national Task Force on Organization, Governance, and Structure and was also appointed to two three-year terms as a Chapter Advancement Team member and served as the Chair of the Chapter Advancement Team. In 2012, he was awarded the Frederick C. Morgan Individual Achievement Award. The Morgan Award is the highest honor given by HFMA for volunteer leadership and contributions to the field of healthcare financial management. The award is given to one individual annually from over 35,000 members nationwide. Neil is a frequent speaker concerning healthcare A/R topics and has published articles in the TCHFMA Volunteer Voice.

Neil has served in leadership positions with various not-for-profits, community groups and faith-based organizations. He has served as: Member and Board Chair of the Knoxville Leadership Foundation, Member and Board Chair 4 Market Square and the Knoxville Fellows Program, Past President of the South Knoxville Rotary Club, Past President of East Tennessee Children’s Hospital Committee for the Future. He has also served as a Board Member for the Knoxville Sports Hall of Fame, has been awarded the Greater Knoxville Chamber Enterpriser Award, and is a member of the 2022 Class of Leadership Knoxville.

Bonnie Sharp – Vice President of Operations

Bonnie joined the HRG team in February 2011. She has worked in call center operations and customer service for over 15 years, including managing multiple high volume call centers. As Client Services Manager, Bonnie created efficiencies in our Client Services division that impacted production and maintained optimal client satisfaction.

Bonnie was promoted to Director of Operations in September 2012. As the Director of Operations, she maintained production efficiencies within all divisions at HRG and maintained policies, procedures, and compliance for HRG.

November 2021, Bonnie was promoted to Vice President of Operations. As V.P. of Operations, Bonnie is responsible for the day-to-day operations of HRG and oversees all Managers and Directors of the company. She also works closely with HRG’s president, Neil Koonce, in matters related to HRG’s strategic efforts to recover receivables for our healthcare clients.

Bonnie has a BA in Communication Studies from Longwood University and is a member of the Tennessee Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association. She also is a Certified Revenue Cycle Representative obtained through HFMA’s rigorous CRCR program.

Jeremy Hale – Advisory Board and Consultant

Jeremy serves on the Advisory Board of HRG. Jeremy was the Chief Operating and Financial Officer of HRG for more than 10 years.  In addition to running day-to-day operations, he was involved in HRG’s strategic efforts to recover receivables for our healthcare clients. In his advisory role he attends leadership meetings, provides input on company strategy and works on special projects related to compliance and operational matters for HRG. Jeremy is a member of the Tennessee Chapter of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Jeremy has a B.S. in Business Administration, an MBA, and a Doctorate of Jurisprudence, Business Transactions Concentration, all from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
